Reaching Tukwila for Christ

God has given us a vision to be a cross-cultural neighborhood outreach. We hope to live out our lives as an example of reconciliation.

Our mission is to be a place where unchurched children and youth, and their families from all cultures can gather together to be loved, and to learn about the love of Jesus Christ.

Our programs

  • Good News Club

A safe and positive space for elementary aged children 5 through 10. Every Thursday, we serve dinner, engage in learning games, and provide instruction in the love of Christ.

  • Lighthouse

Every Thursday, junior and senior high youth gather together in a safe, warm space to learn what the Bible says about the struggles they face every day, and to be be able to answer the questions, “Who is Jesus?” and “What does that mean for my life?”

  • S.T.E.A.M. Program

We are currently working toward beginning a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) Club in the 2023-24 school year to allow elementary students the opportunity to broaden their view on future vocational possibilities.

  • Family Support

Our ministry extends to the entire family. As resources allow, we provide food, school backpacks, clothing, and most importantly, a safe space where parents know that their children are receiving care, safety, and productive interaction in the high-risk neighborhood in which they live.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Van Drivers and Assistants are needed to safely pick-up and drop-off children and youth during our Thursday Night outreach.  Thursday nights 5:00-6:00pm and 7:30-8:30pm. All drivers need to complete the Urban Impact Van Training.

  • Lead Teachers willing to be trained in Child Evangelism Fellowship curriculum are needed for Good News Club, 5:30-7:30pm, Thursday evenings.

  • Mentors, Big Brothers/Big Sisters are needed to begin staffing our S.T.E.A.M. program launch in Fall 2023, as well as adults willing to come alongside children and youth in need of individual support and encouragement.

  • Food Provision and Service – We are looking for people or other children’s oriented groups to provide meals and serve 50 children and youth, weekly on Thursday evenings 5:00-6:30pm.  Providing dinner every week meets a very real need for the families we serve.

  • Gift Card Sponsors – to bless families with essentials like groceries, gas, and basic household items. Every donation can easily be turned into a gift card for a family in need. If you are shopping at Safeway, Fred Meyer or Target, consider adding a gift card to your basket.

“I was invited to observe a Good News Club, and my heart immediately broke for the children.  I have been a teacher assistant ever since, and promise that if you visit, you will fall in love with the kids.”
