Connecting the Community

We passionately pursue God's justice and wholeness through building relationships, meeting felt needs and proclaiming the good news of Jesus.

We offer educational enrichment, community gatherings, prayer for the neighborhood, and essential relief supplies.  We host dialogues on racial reconciliation, education, immigration, and more.  We invest in people of all ages, believing leadership is a key element in building lasting change.

Our Programs

  • After School Programs

Emerald City Commons (ECC) opened in 2013 and houses 61 families. Urban Impact provides an after-school program and welcomes volunteers to work with children in grades K-8. Each day offers opportunities for educational, social and emotional activities. Volunteers and snack donations are also greatly appreciated!

  • Summer Day Camp

To combat summer learning loss, we host a 6-week academic day camp for ECC students. Typically on site at Emerald City Commons, we provide fun and engaging programming which includes academic enrichment, special projects and field trips. Leadership development through youth internships is another main focus.

  • Community Gatherings

Monthly gatherings are offered to ECC Residents and neighborhood residents to show love through building community, providing mutual encouragement, and distributing supplies to meet basic needs. These events often center around holidays and cultural celebrations.

Another annual event is National Night Out, a community campaign that brings together members of the community to partner, gather resources, and enjoy food + live performances.

  • Neighborhood Outreach

ECBF reaches more than 60 families in our immediate neighborhood. The vision is to build community and invite our neighbors to connect with the church. We do this through making connections, building relationships, and providing essential relief supplies, food, and financial support.

Outreach efforts include: Back2School Bash, BooBash, Thanksgiving meal, winter toy drive, community dialogues, and supporting the various needs of youth in the community.
