For about a month now, I've been meeting with a group of middle school kids from four different middle schools in the area. The group is an attempt to bring middle school students together from different schools to get them working as one body, to drop the different titles over their school doors and pick up a unified identity. The cool thing for me is being able to watch them move and dream as a team. New relationships have formed and there is a sweet unity in the group.
However everyone is extremely different, not only different in their style of dress, family backgrounds, and their ways handling the day to day journey of being a youth, but also in their beliefs. We talk about Christ and His relevance to our lives as young people, even atheists (there is one in the group, but she's one of the most dedicated. We are so blessed to have her as part of the group). We talk about how God has a plan for our lives, and we discuss that plan and our salvation and how that relates to our everyday lives. I really appreciate the discussions we have.
More and more I'm seeing God reveal His love and grace through these kids and I am privileged to be on this journey with my little brothers and sisters.
